We had an excellent afternoon in the Garden with good food and wine, courtesy of Tony from Vittoria’s to whom we extend our heartfelt thanks. Thanks also to The 1761 Dixie Style Jazz Band for the music and the weather gods for occasional glimpses of the sun.
Herewith some pictures of the day, if there are more pictures out there, please get in touch we would love to add them.
But Oh, Madam Chair – “Where did you get that hat?”
Unfortunately due to ill health Bill Chalmers has had to retire from active involvement in the Friends. BIll has been a stalwart of the Friends for 18 years and we would very much like to thank him wholeheartedly for all he has done for the Garden. We wish him well.
At the recent AGM a new Friends of Hopetoun Crescent Garden committee was elected as follows. We wish them well for the coming year.
Friends of Hopetoun Crescent’s AGM will be on Sunday 19th of October at 2:30pm in the McDonald Road Library, Nelson Hall. All are welcome.
The speaker this year will be Sutherland Forsyth, Community Engagement Officer at the RBGE. His talk is entitled Lost Treasures, hidden histories and audaciousness personified; rebuilding the Botanic Cottage. Sutherland will bring us up to date on the progress so far .
There will of course be refreshments and we expect to finish around 4pm.
